The Joy of January Skiing!
After the madness that is Christmas and New Year, January skiing can be a perfect tonic for those that need a holiday to get over the hectic festive period!
January sees quieter pistes, better snow and resorts that are in full swing. The fact that there are fewer people means that the snow holds up much better than when the slopes are full of skiers, and you avoid the lengthy queues that you might experience at the end of December and again in February.
Over the past 2 seasons, the late arrival of the snow has meant that some of the best conditions were to be found in January, with the local off-piste itineraries more accessible in addition to the pristine pistes (The Three Valleys has over 600km of pistes – making it the largest linked ski area in the World!).
Semaine du Vignerons
Les Menuires also hosts the wonderful Wine Week in the Les Menuires sports centre. You are given an empty glass and you can walk around the suppliers tasting all types and varieties of wine from around the world! The week starts on Monday 8th January and finishes on Thursday 11th January 2018. It is open from 6pm – 8.30pm. 5 Euros entry for the week. To learn more visit here.
