So the day has arrived, and the staff are about to, any minute! Powder N Shine welcomes the new batch of employees to high altitude Reberty Village for the winter 2016/17 season. It is cold and the snow already up in Val Thorens is fantastic, so it all bodes well for this winter.
As always, we have sourced some of the very best employees to run our catered chalets for us, epitomised by our first class Chefs, who we will introduce individually here:
Shaun, Le Chamois
A returner from last year, and a Chef with over 6 years’ experience in fine dining, Shaun has since created his own freelancing enterprise, running pop-up fine dining restaurants and food events across the UK. We are delighted that he will be back in his familiar surroundings of Le Chamois, cooking up a storm before honing his snowboarding skills on the hill!
Colin, Chalet Neve
Colin and girlfriend Maisie Walker are also returners, having worked for Powder N Shine in the 2014/15 season in Le Chamois. They spent the year since then working and travelling in Japan, with Colin able to add in a new dimension to his cookery, having worked in some of the fantastic restaurants Japan has to offer. His previous experience includes time at Michelin-starred The Kitchin in Edinburgh and in fact, he joined Chef Tom Kitchin for a pop-up restaurant this summer at Harrod’s in London.
Joe, Flocon des Neiges
Joe’s CV is plastered with Rosettes from across the UK, working in various different roles up to Senior Sous Chef. He has also worked recently at the Michelin-starred establishments of The Lords Of The Manor in Gloucestershire and L’Ortolan in Reading, so we are extremely excited to showcase what he has to offer in the original Powder N Shine chalet, Flocon des Neiges.
Ethan, Sapin de Reberty
Ethan is another Chef who is working alongside his girlfriend in a couple, with Anna his trusty sidekick in Chalet Neve. Ethan trained in France and has most recently worked in the Michelin-starred fine dining restaurant at Dublin’s excellent Fitzwilliam Hotel, so his influences come from across Europe and further afield.
