Resort Manager -Jessica
In a past life Jessica was an advertising strategist and managed teams in San Francisco and Sydney on global clients. Deciding to go on a creative sabbatical and fulfil lifelong dreams to travel, over the last 3 years Jessica has gone around the world to climb the highest mountains and sail across the biggest seas. She’s volunteered for causes she cares passionately about such as the environment and child welfare while working as a photographer, writer and founder for a newly launched retreat business. With a commitment to nurturing a positive environment while having a personable approach and enthusiastic attitude to life; Jessica brings a great mix of qualities to her role as Resort Manager for Powder N Shine.
Team Flocon des Neiges
Heather is returning to Powder N Shine after a successful season in 2013/14. She trained at the acclaimed Ashburton Cookery School and more recently has worked at one of Scotland’s top restaurants – Paul Kitching’s 21212, which is one of a handful of restaurants in Edinburgh to hold a Michelin star at present. Heather will be showcasing her culinary talents in Flocon des Neiges for the winter 2014/15 season.
Team Le Chamois
Colin is a South African Chef who has worked in some excellent establishments and under some expert tutelage: He trained under the stewardship of Prue Leith OBE, and has since worked at the celebrated Michelin-starred restaurant, The Kitchin, in Edinburgh, where he worked with chef proprietor Tom Kitchin. He has also worked at Café Roux in Amsterdam and was part of the kitchen team at the acclaimed restaurant at the Mount Nelson Hotel in Cape Town, South Africa.
Maisie is Colin’s girlfriend and they worked together at The Kitchin, with Maisie in a more client-facing role. She also has excellent experience and a good understanding of the Host role having worked at The Balmoral 5* Hotel in Edinburgh in the role of Hostess, which will prove invaluable when dealing with guests in the chalet. Both Colin and Maisie are novices in snow sports, but are greatly looking forward to mastering snowboarding and skiing this winter.
Team Sapin de Reberty
Returning for this third consecutive winter season with Powder N Shine, Matt will be based in Sapin de Reberty this winter. He has been fortunate enough to train at the Tante Marie Culinary Academy before working at Petrus, a 2-star Michelin restaurant in London. Strong on all fronts, snowboarder Matt’s speciality is cakes and desserts. Come and sample them this season!
Having just completed a work placement in Dubai Sophie is looking forward to swapping her view of sky scrapers and sand dunes to the towering snow covered mountains of the Alps! Having spent most of her ski hours in Scotland she is looking forward to testing out the saying “if you can ski in Scotland – you can ski anywhere!” With varied roles in hospitality and customer service she will be on hand (and always with a smile) to ensure your holiday is as easy and enjoyable as planned!
Growing up in a 5 star B&B in a Scottish ski region Luke knows exactly how to prepare for your return from the slopes whether it’s a relaxing night in or in preparation for a trip out to inspect the local nightlife! He has just finished his Masters course at Edinburgh University and cannot wait to leave the computer labs for the sites and experiences of Reberty Village and around!
