Powder N Shine was started in 2009 by a British couple Francesca Smith and Steve Pangli. Both Steve and Francesca have been skiing and snowboarding for 20+ years, and having spent many years in London, Paris and New York respectively, it was time for a change. Steve and Francesca both took a sabbatical from their busy working lives in London and moved to Reberty Village to work across a number of chalets – hosting, cooking and maintaining them. Unfortunately, Francesca broke her leg on December 2nd after a skiing accident (misfortune as opposed to stupidity!) and could no longer work as a seasonnaire. Thankfully though, it opened the door for Francesca and Steve to set up their own company, which was something that had been in the pipeline previously.
Francesca has worked in the Advertising and Marketing business for 6 years as a New Business and Marketing Director. She has been fortunate enough to have worked in some of the best cities in the world including Paris, London and New York. Now she feels it is time to breathe in the fresh mountain air! Francesca has a love for food and wine, and will illustrate this through her role as chalet chef in Flocon des Neiges.
Steve worked for a number of years as a Management Consultant and has worked in both large Consultancies and most recently in a small, niche consulting firm. Prior to his consultancy experience, he studied at Nottingham University which allowed him to spend nine months in Reims. Unfortunately, on a student’s limited budget, he was unable to fully explore the riches of the Champagne region! Steve has seemingly limitless energy, so rest assured you will be well looked after as he is your chalet host in Le Chamois.
